The Temple Band, known as “America’s First Town Band,” will begin weekly rehearsals for the 2025-26 season on Monday, Oct. 13, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Temple Town Hall.
New members are encouraged to join on Oct. 13, 20, and 27. The volunteer, non-profit community band includes musicians ages 9 to 90 from across the Monadnock and Souhegan Valley regions. No auditions or dues are required, though two years of concert band experience is recommended.
The band rehearses weekly from October through May and performs a dozen summer concerts across New England, along with a holiday benefit concert Dec. 14 at Temple Elementary School.
Scholarships are available for graduating seniors who demonstrate dedication to the band, and student musicians may earn community service credit.
