The Dublin Community Center, 1123 Main St., will transform into the โ€œStarlight Loungeโ€ on Thursday, Aug. 28, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. The retro-style jazz night will celebrate the sounds of the 1930s through the 1950s with saxophonist Paul Klemperer and his full band.

Guests are invited to dress up and enjoy dancing or listening to classics by Sinatra, Bennett, Martin and more. Appetizers will be provided, and attendees can bring their own beverages.

Klemperer, a Boston native, discovered jazz as a teenager and studied with Archie Shepp, Max Roach and Ray Copeland before moving to Austin in 1982. He has since worked with artists across blues, roots and jazz, produced five CDs of original music and toured internationally for more than 30 years.

Tickets are $27 in advance online at dublincommunitycenter.org, $25 by check mailed to PO Box 249, Dublin NH 03444, or $25 at the door, subject to availability.
