Despite throwing a no-hitter in their final preliminary-round game, the Mt. Monadnock 10U Little League team did not advance in the regionals in Rhode Island.

Wes Cormier and Pierce Adams combined for the no-hitter in Thursday’s consolation game, a 4-1 win over Maryland, with Adams recording a strikeout for the last out of the game.

In the bottom of the first inning, Mt. Monadnock took the lead after Adams doubled to center field, Rocco Peck singled to center field, Maryland committed an error and Avery French grounded out.

Cormier earned the win for Mt. Monadnock, giving up no hits and an unearned run over four innings, striking out seven and walking three. Adams collected the save.

Adams, French, James St. John, and Peck each had hits. Adams, French and Peck each drove in a run.

Mt. Monadnock falls to Cumberland

Mt. Monadnock was eliminated from advancing Wednesday with a 12-2 loss to Cumberland, R.I.

Peck took the loss, going four innings, allowing eight runs (zero earned) on four hits, striking out five and walking two. Cormier went 2-2 to lead the offense.

Overall, Mt. Monadnock, which qualified for the regionals by winning the New Hampshire state championship, finished fifth out of six teams.
