“Newspaper Treasures: Beyond the Obit,” the second of four virtual genealogy sessions sponsored by the New Ipswich Historical Society, will take place Wednesday, April 27, at 7 p.m.
The public is invited to join NIHS members for a tour around the internet as they look into free and subscription newspaper collections and methods to enhance genealogical endeavors.
Research librarian, author and genealogy enthusiast Erin Moulton will introduce participants to the historical information, personal anecdotes and glimpses of local social life that historical newspapers offer the amateur genealogist. In addition, she will provide information about where to find and how to access these resources, as well as which strategies to employ for calibrating a productive search in digitized collections.
The link for the Zoom session can be found on the NIHS webpage at newipswichhistoricalsociety.org, or people can register at us02web.zoom.us/meeting/register/tZ0kf–tqTMpEt2f8buTX9c8PXHGKUHkNfc8.
The Stearns-Burton Lecture Committee provided funding for this series.
