The New Hampshire State Council on the Arts has awarded The Park Theatre in Jaffrey a New Hampshire American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) grant, which provides funds to assist recovery from hardship due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Funded by the National Endowment for the Arts and administered through the State Council on the Arts, ARPA supports salary and facilities costs of nonprofit cultural organizations affected by the pandemic.
Opened in the summer of 2021, the reconstructed Park Theatre is a regional center for the arts and entertainment, presenting music, live stage and film in its two auditoriums, showcasing local and regional performers and bringing nationally known artists to the region. The theater also provides rental facilities and supports community events such as Veterans Day, Martin Luther King Jr Day and St. Patrick’s Day. For upcoming events, visit theparktheatre.org, and follow the Park Theatre on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and Twitter.
Established in 1965 as the official state arts agency, the New Hampshire State Council on the Arts works throughout the state to enhance the quality of life in New Hampshire by stimulating economic growth through the arts, investing in the creativity of students, making the arts accessible to underserved populations, and preserving heritage arts.
The Park Theatre is at 19 Main Street in downtown Jaffrey.
