To the editor:
Sirs, I can’t believe a few days after I write about trying to have net meter solar users get paid wholesale rates — rather than retail rates that get subsidized by the regular ratepayers like me and anyone who doesn’t have or can’t afford the solar setup — my bill goes up.
I got a notice from Eversource about raising the rates in my current electric bill.
Thanks, Eversource, for proving my thoughts that the regular users out there are being charged more and more to cover the cost of paying the solar users. Also, thanks a lot to the New Hampshire public Utilities Commission for tucking it to us again. Time for a different commission.
Also, if you lump together all the silly different ways the electric bill is now structured and subtract the meter charge, the REAL net cost is about 0.20 cents per kwh not the 0.9 that everyone talks about. Too high for any heating use.
As I’ve said before, I’m all for solar use, but not at the expense of the regular ratepayers.
