Monadnock Art/Friends of the Dublin Art Colony presents its 26th annual Open Studio Tour from Oct. 8 to 10 and Art Tour Preview Exhibition running through Oct. 29 at the Monadnock Center for History and Culture, 19 Grove St., Peterborough.
In recognition of the 26th anniversary of the organization, a special Emerging Artists exhibit will also be shown in October.
The art tour is held each October. Art-lovers can our the countryside, following the Art Tour signs, and discover the places where artists work. The tour winds through Dublin, Hancock, Harrisville, Jaffrey, Marlborough, Peterborough and Sharon. Visitors can see the workplaces of painters, printmakers, potters, jewelers, sculptors, fiber artists, photographers, woodworkers, glass artists and more. Artists offer work for sale, often specially priced for the tour.
Artist studios will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day throughout the tour, which is self-directed and is free of charge. This year’s tour will feature 65 artists in 54 studios.
The Monadnock Art Tour 26th Preview Exhibition, featuring artwork from most of the tour artists, will be at the Monadnock Center for History and Culture’s Bass Hall. The Emerging Artists exhibition will also be located at the center, and will feature the work of individuals in the Monadnock region who are just starting their art careers.
Gallery hours will be 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. during the tour weekend. After the tour, the gallery will be open Wednesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monandock Art will be following all safety protocols as recommended by the CDC to ensure the safety of visitors.
Printed art tour brochures and maps are available in stores, restaurants and galleries throughout the region, and at the Peterborough and Jaffrey chambers of commerce. Maps and further information on the tour, along with images of work by member artists, can be found on the Monadnock Art website, monadnockart.org.
