The 105th annual Jaffrey Center Summer Fair, sponsored by First Church in Jaffrey, was well attended and successful. Leaders and workers included members, friends, neighbors, community members, and loyal helpers from North Carolina to Vermont who come back each year.

Cody Gordon and a dozen workers from Gordon Services provided the heavy lifting of tables, props and chairs. For two hours, they lifted and carried loads that exceed the capabilities of most other volunteers, all at no charge. Scouts and leaders from Jaffrey Troop 33 also moved merchandise and furniture.

We received monetary or service donations from River Street Market, Daffodil’s Flowers & Gifts, Tieger Realty, Market Basket, Monadnock Disposal and several generous private donors.

Many thanks to the volunteers, business sponsors, people who donated merchandise or baked goods to sell, Rotary Club parking attendants, Scout leaders from Camp Wanocksett, Camp Wa-Klo girls and, most importantly, the attendees who made purchases. More than 50 percent of the proceeds will be distributed to local social service agencies and student scholarships. Thank you for continuing a Jaffrey tradition of community service.
