MarlboroughSmall Pond presents musical

Small Pond Productions will present a production of the musical “The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas” with an opening performance at the Community House of Marlborough on Thursday, June 2.

The story takes place in the tiny Texas town of Gilbert, where Miss Mona, played by Traci Booth, has been running a successful brothel, dubbed the Chicken Ranch, which she inherited from the late Miss Wulla Jean, played Kay Lucius.

The story is inspired by the real life 1970s Chicken Range once located in La Grange, Texas. “The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas” was originally produced on the New York stage by Stevie Phillips in association with Universal Pictures and also, originally produced by Actors Studio. The book was written by Larry L. King and Peter Masterson, with music and lyrics by Carol Hall.

Performances will be held on June 2, 3, 4, 10 and 11 at 7:30 p.m., and Sunday, June 5, at 2 p.m.

Tickets are $15 for general admission and $12 for seniors and students.
