On Tuesday, July 18, at 7 p.m. Avenue A’s Write Out! program will release its short film “Time is Everything” in a free screening at the Peterborough Community Theatre, 6 School St.

“Time is Everything” unites poetry, prose, dialogue, music and visuals in a spoken-word film featuring the work of 12 teen writers from Avenue A’s Write Out! program. The screening will be followed by a panel discussion with the teens whose writing is featured in the film.

“‘‘Time is Everything’ is an ode to our experience with time and the ways we cope as the seconds march on. We’re helpless to stop it, but also empowered to embrace the current using the days we’ve been given to build something beautiful,” stated Adam Arnone, leader of Avenue A’s Write Out! program.

The film marks Write Out!’s fifth anthology release, and the seventh anniversary of the Write Out! program. Write Out! started in 2016, under the leadership of Avenue A volunteer Cynthia West. In the last seven years, Write Out! has served over 60 teens from the Monadnock region through weekly writing club meetings.

Twelve Write Out! alumni have pursued post-secondary education in writing-related fields. One is a Marine, another became New Hampshire’s Youth Poet Laureate, and some are pursuing careers in science.

“Wherever you go and whatever you do, listening respectfully, expressing yourself clearly, and communicating confidently are valuable skills – and that is what our teens practice at Write Out!” stated Jacqueline Roland, Avenue A’s director of teen programs.

Write Out! is the only free, out-of-school writing mentorship program for youth in the Monadnock region. It is supported in part by funding from the New Hampshire State Council on the Arts and the National Endowment for the Arts.
