The Monadnock U18 Tennis Team captured the state championship title this summer following the revival of the local USTA Junior Team Tennis league.
After a four-year hiatus, the league returned under the leadership of Pete Samuelson Jr. and Deb LePress, with backing from the United States Tennis Association New Hampshire board of directors. Local players began their training through junior clinics in the Monadnock region, led by Samuelson and USPTA Elite Pro Tami Vezina.
The 2025–2026 season featured both winter and summer leagues. After winning the state title, Samuelson’s squad advanced to the USTA New England Sectionals in early August in Springfield, Mass., where they competed in a round-robin tournament against top teams from across the region.
The team practices in Peterborough. For details on the program or information about joining, contact Samuelson at pete@machiningnh.com.
