Worthy of the Royal Shakespeare Company
I wish The Dreamers’ “Hamlet – A Ghost Story” could be witnessed by the Royal Shakespeare Company. The acting and directing, sound, and lights were world-class this weekend at the Park Theatre. Even someone opening the front side door during the “To Be or Not To Be” soliloquy could not phase Princess Hamlet’s delivery. Even outside fireworks during the second act were ignored. These young geniuses delivered, true to the classic, and also in a way, with pauses and emphasis and interpretation so that we all actually understood Shakespeare’s sometimes subtle, sometimes glaring intent! Best Hamlet performance I have ever seen, and fun, funny, personal and tragic all together. I must also praise Ophelia and her banjo. So many magic moments. Thank you, Dreamers Ensemble!
