Naples , ME – Marie G. Lovy passed peacefully on May 20, 2026. Her loving and faithful husband, Mike Lovy of 25 years was at her side in her time of passing. Her son Ray sat vigil at his Mothers side for the week she spent in hospice. While not all of her family could be with her in at that moment, all were there with her in heart and soul.
Marie grew up in Dublin, one of the four daughters to Raymond and Dorothy Simard. Pre-deceased by Ray Simard, she is survived by mother Dorothy, sisters Gina Simard, Cheryl Demers, and Alena Pardoe, two sons Raymond Ardine, Jesse Ardine, grandson Ethan, and step-daughter Heather Lovy. She is also survived by many more family members and friends.
Marie was well known in the Dublin area and ran a home based daycare for many years. Marie was an incredibly dedicated and hard working woman and loved the kids she watched.
Her dream was to move to Florida and together, with her husband Mike they made that dream come true. They moved to Bradenton, Florida where Marie truly blossomed. She and her husband bought a house in a lovely community, had a golf cart, Lovy her dog and created the life she always dreamed of. She found work with Mixon Fruit Farms and became a staple there. She loved her work and did everything from serving ice cream to giving tours. Marie loved her work and continued to do so to within weeks of her death.
Marie lost her battle to colon cancer after bravely facing it head on. She had fought hard and was in remission briefly, but the cancer came back it hit hard. Marie was surrounded by her family, in person, on the phone, and in prayer, she was never alone. The Lord brought her back to New England for a reason; first, to help support the family during her father’s illness and death. Second, so that the family could be a blessing to her during her battle and eventual passing. Her faith carried her through her battle and into the waiting arms of the Lord and the family who passed before her.
Marie chose to not have a service but to be remembered as she was when she was alive. She continues to reside in our hearts and minds and is missed beyond what words can express.
