The Keene Lions Club will host its 37th annual Great Ashuelot River Virtual Duck Race on Wednesday, Aug. 12, at 5:30 p.m. at the Keene Recreation Center Lions Pavilion.

The family-friendly event is held in partnership with the Keene Recreation Center and coincides with Mr. Wilbur’s Peanut Carnival. While the race itself will be held virtually, the event features in-person activities including free food and games.

Proceeds from the fundraiser support the Lions Club’s local and global community programs, including eyesight and hearing initiatives.

Participants can adopt standard yellow ducks for $5 each or five for $20, with cash prizes ranging from $500 up to a $5,000 grand prize. A limited number of 150 purple ducks are also available for $150 each, competing for a single $3,000 prize. Ducks can be purchased on-site or in advance online.
