Francestown Land Trust will host philosopher and author Maria Sanders at its annual meeting June 11 in Francestown.
Sanders, an emerita professor of philosophy at Plymouth State University and author of “Mind the Gap: Exploring Happiness as a Community,” will present “The Place We Call Home: Ethics, Nature, and the Future of Human Life” at 6:30 p.m. Refreshments and conversation begin at 6 p.m., followed by a brief business meeting.
The presentation will explore the relationship between ethics, nature and the future of human life through the interconnectedness of living systems. Sanders argues that humans are deeply embedded within the environment and that moral responsibilities extend to ecosystems and future generations.
The event is open to the public, and nonmembers are invited to attend and enjoy light refreshments.
