Detroit fingerpicking folk and blues artist Todd Albright will perform at Harlowโ€™s on Friday, March 13.

Albright plays a baritone 12-string acoustic guitar in various tunings and also performs on slide guitar. He recently released a new album,ย “Blues For Dexter Linwood,” produced by Charlie Parr and named for a Detroit neighborhood. The first single, โ€œStep It Up and Go,โ€ features Parr on slide guitar and Dave Hundrieser on harmonica. The album, due April 17 on Albrightโ€™s Misfortune Records label, is his fourth release and first on his own imprint.

Albright has performed at AmericanaFest, Merlefest, SXSW, the Juke Joint Festival and the Luck Reunion, and has opened for the Raconteurs, Cedric Burnside, The Wood Brothers and Dick Dale.

Acrylic nails on his picking hand help shape his sound, rooted in early blues and folk traditions.
