Griffin Schultz was the lone competitor for the ConVal boys track team in the high jump Sunday during the first portion of the Division II State Championship Meet at the University of New Hampshire.
Schultz, the second seed entering the event, cleared 6 feet, tying two other athletes for the second-highest jump of the day. He placed fourth after tiebreakers and earned four team points. It marked the third time this season Schultz has cleared 6 feet in competition.
The remainder of the Division II state meet will be held Sunday morning, Feb. 8, at Plymouth State University. Schultz qualified in three events and is seeded seventh in the 55-meter dash and 10th in the 300-meter dash.

Other ConVal qualifiers include Ross Stephens, the top seed and defending state champion in the 300 meters and the fourth seed in the 55 meters; Morly Johnson, seeded eighth in the shot put; and the 4×200-meter relay team of Schultz, Stephens, Bretton Davies and Marcus Jordan, seeded eighth.
