The ConVal boys’ indoor track and field team finished third out of 11 teams, scoring 42 points, at a meet held Sunday, Jan. 18, at the University of New Hampshire.
Senior Ross Stephens led ConVal with 18 points, winning the 300-meter dash in 36.97 seconds and placing second in the 55-meter dash in 6.83 seconds.
Junior Griffin Schultz added 16 points, winning the high jump with a personal-best and school-record leap of 6 feet, 2 inches. Schultz also finished third in the 55-meter dash.
Junior Morly Johnson scored two points by placing fifth in the shot put with a throw of 40 feet, 7 inches.
The boys’ 4×160-meter relay team — Schultz, junior Bretton Davies, junior Marcus Jordan and Stephens — placed third in 1:20.38 to add six points.
On the girls’ side, senior Whitney Adair finished sixth in the 600-meter dash with a season-best time of 1:49.61.
Next week, ConVal athletes who have met qualifying standards will return to UNH to improve their marks ahead of the Division II State Meet.
