The annual Antrim Festival of Trees is now going on at the James A. Tuttle Library, 45 Main Street, Antrim. The free community festival includes over 70 unqiue holiday trees decorated by community groups, families, and organizations. Thursday, Dec. 4:
Ladies’ Night at Edmunds Ace Hardware in Antrim, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. For a $5 donation to Lockeโs Promise, which raises money for MS, attendees get a big red bag and a 20% discount on almost everything that fits in the bag. Refreshments and a fun night for holiday shopping.

Friday, Dec. 5:
“Holiday Trees in Peterborough” opens at the Peterborough Town Library. Friday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 6, 9:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., and Monday, Dec. 8, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Vote for your favorite trees Friday and Saturday. Hot chocolate and campfire after the Lantern Parade on Saturday at 6:30 p.m.
DubHub Holiday Sale Small Treasures Art Show & Sale, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Dublin Community Center, 1123 Main St. in Dublin. Pop-Up Cookie Market on Dec. 6, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. All proceeds benefit the DubHub.
Friday, Dec. 5 and Saturday, Dec. 6: 48th Annual Pine Hill Holiday Fair, live music, wares from local vendors. On Saturday, children’s activities including stories, a puppet show, circus performance, seasonal music and treats. Fair admission is free, though fees apply for some activities. Friday hours: 6:30-9:30 p.m. (adults only). Saturday hours: 10 a.m. to 3 pm. (families welcome).

Park Theatre Dickens Fest Opening and Proclamation Reading, 6 p.m., Park Theatre, Jaffrey. Join Jaffrey’s Town Crier Obadiah Brimtop for the candlelight opening ceremony and proclamation reading in front of the Park Theatre. Concessions will be open. No ticket required. At 7 p.m., the Heather Pierson Jazz Trio performs the soundtrack of “A Charlie Brown Christmas,” by jazz great Vince Guaraldi. Tickets are $25 for adults and $10 for children.
Friday, Dec. 5 through Sunday, Dec. 7: Children in the Arts Garden of Light Lantern Festival. Lantern installation starts Friday evening. Parade starts Saturday at 6 p.m. in downtown Peterborough. The parade will begin behind the M&T Bank, 35 Main St., and end at Putnam Park. Poles and lights will be distributed from distribution points set up in front of the bank beginning at 5:15 and the parade will leave promptly at 6. Lyndeborough Tree Lighting and Visit with Santa, from 4 to 6 p.m. Citizen’s Hall, 9 Citizens Hall Road. Enjoy cookies and hot chocolate at the park across from the Village Store, and afterwards at Citizens’ Hall for a visit and photos with Santa.
Handel’s Messiah, 4 p.m. at the Peterborough Unitarian Universalist Church. The performance will be conducted by James Sharrock and include professional vocal and instrumental soloists and a community chorus of about 75 singers. The 70-minute concert is free and open to the public. The church sanctuary is fully accessible using the rear door and elevator.
