The Temple-Greenville Police Department and Temple’s Volunteer Fire Department responded to a tree fire at 242 Peterborough Road at 10:39 p.m. Saturday, April 4.
According to Police Officer Don Valente’s report, embers from a brush fire on the property started the blaze. Fire department volunteers extinguished it by 11:45 p.m.
Fire Chief George Clark said the property owners had a Category 3 permit to burn the brush pile, meaning they were authorized to do so without a fire ring.
Nobody was injured and only the tree was damaged.
