The Hourglass Readers, in collaboration with Writers for Democratic Action, will present a staged reading of “It Can’t Happen Here – Again” on Saturday, Feb. 28, at 1 p.m. at the Keene Public Library’s Ruth Huntress Auditorium.

Admission is free and open to the public. A discussion will follow the performance, with light refreshments served. There will be one performance.

The script, written by Wesley Savick, James Carroll and Rachel DeWoskin for Writers for Democratic Action, responds to the rise of fascism and is inspired by “It Can’t Happen Here,” a 1936 stage adaptation of Sinclair Lewis’ novel of the same name. The script has been performed in more than 100 productions nationwide over the past year.

The reading is directed by Catherine Behrens and features actors Wendy Almeida, Mary Armstrong, Michael Auerbach, Damien Licata, Dan Patterson and Kenzie Wood. Taryn Fisher will lead the post-performance discussion.
