An interactive workshop, “Build a Playable Pipe Organ,” will be held Saturday, Jan. 10, from 10 a.m. to noon at the Hancock Town Library.
Participants will learn how the structure, keys, pipes and wind of a pipe organ work together, forming the basis of instruments that have been used for centuries in New Hampshire and around the world. The workshop will be led by Mary Ann Fleming, an organist, choral accompanist and children’s theater director.
The Orgelkids workshop is designed for adults and children ages 8 and older, with children required to attend with an adult. The event is sponsored by the New Hampshire chapter of the American Guild of Organists and is open to the public.
Registration is required, as space is limited. To register, call the library at 525-4411 or email hancocklibrary@comcast.net with “PIPE ORGAN” in the subject line.
