Undergraduate and graduate students studying music may apply for the DAR Marian Anderson Legacy Scholarship through Jan. 31. Sponsored by the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution, the program provides a one-time $5,000 award to one student annually.
Applicants must be accepted or enrolled at an accredited U.S. college or university, have a concentration in music — including performance, composition, theory or education — and maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale or equivalent. Applications require references submitted through the application system.
Applicants also must submit a personal statement describing humanitarian or volunteer service.
The scholarship honors contralto Marian Anderson (1897–1993) and is supported by the DAR Marian Anderson Legacy Fund. Applications are available at dar.org/outreach/education/scholarships.
