Earlier this month, the Mason Select Board officially accepted the resignation of long-time board member Charlie Moser, due to personal reasons, and appointed Antje Skorupan as his replacement until the March elections.
Moser has been a member of the board since 2012, and was also the current Select Board representative on the Planning Board. His term would have been up in March.
Moser submitted his letter of resignation, effective immediately, to the Select Board on Dec. 9. Select Board members Kate Batcheller and Rob Doyle accepted it in a 2-0 vote, with Moser absent.
Later that week, on an off-schedule meeting on Dec. 13, the Select Board met at 9 a.m. to appoint a interim member of the board until an official replacement could be voted by the public in March.
Skorupan is a member of the Mason Planning Board. New Hampshire law allows her to continue on the Planning Board as well as the Select Board as a full member.
Batcheller motioned to nominate Skorupan, which was agreed upon unanimously. Skorupan, who was present at the meeting, agreed to accept the nomination, and was appointed, again by unanimous vote. Skorupan was sworn in by Town Clerk Deb Morrison.
