The ConVal Cougars wrestling team turned in a strong performance at the Mascoma Holiday Invitational Wrestling Tournament on Saturday, Dec. 27, in Canaan.

The Cougars, coached by Ken Williams, finished fourth out of 14 teams in the event.

Freshman Lane Williams won the championship at 126 pounds, while Collin Mao and Eli Torres each earned second-place finishes. Cayden Park finished third to place on the podium, and Alistair Armstrong added a strong fourth-place finish.

In the girlsโ€™ division, Natalie Dixon and Isabella Erickson both placed second.

The tournament, a three-mat competition featuring 14 of the stateโ€™s smaller wrestling programs, was the first event of its kind hosted by Mascoma Regional High School.
