Three people were injured in a two-vehicle crash on Route 101 in Temple on Dec. 23, authorities said.

Temple Fire Chief George Clark said the department received a call at 3:07 p.m. reporting a collision involving a tractor-trailer traveling east on Route 101 and a passenger vehicle heading west. The crash occurred near Powers Road at the Route 45-101 intersection and shut down traffic for about two hours.

All three occupants of the passenger vehicle were injured and transported to Elliot Hospital in Manchester. The driver of the tractor-trailer was not injured. Peterborough Fire Chief Ed Walker said the injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

According to the Temple Fire Department, the passenger vehicle was recovered by Steve’s Towing & Recovery, and the tractor-trailer was recovered by Northeast Truck Services Unlimited Towing and Recovery.

Assisting at the scene were the Greenville-Temple Police Department, Peterborough Fire & Rescue, Wilton Fire Department, Wilton Ambulance Service, Wilton Police Department, the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office and the New Hampshire Department of Transportation.
