Shots were fired from a car at a multi-family apartment building in Jaffrey on Wednesday, according to police.

According to a press release, at 5:53 p.m., police responded to the area of Cross Street and Nutting Road in response to several reports of gunshots in the area. Police determined that several shots had been fired from a moving vehicle, as it passed 3 Cross Street, a multi-family apartment building. Several shorts struck the building, and one penetrated into an occupied apartment.

There were no injuries, according to the press release.

Cross Street was closed for approximately two hours while police checked the welfare of residents and investigated, and canvassed the neighborhood speaking to witnesses. Investigation is on-going.

Police believe this is a targeted incident, and there is no known on-going threat to the Jaffrey community, according to the press release.

Suspect and suspect vehicle information is not being released by police at this time.
