Monadnock Community Hospital’s Board of Trustees has selected Richard Scheinblum as the organization’s next president and chief executive officer, following a national search. He will assume the role in February.

The announcement follows a multi-month search that included national outreach and several rounds of candidate interviews. According to the Board, the process focused on identifying a leader with the experience and perspective to guide the hospital in the coming years.

Scheinblum, who holds a Master of Business Administration, has more than 31 years of experience in healthcare, including over 25 years at MCH in executive and operational roles. He currently serves as executive vice president and chief financial officer, and has previously worked as financial controller and director of perioperative services. His work at MCH has included operational and financial oversight, service expansion and participation in long-range planning.

“Rich has been an invaluable leader at MCH for decades, and his deep understanding of our organization, our employees, and our community makes him uniquely qualified to lead us forward,” said Cyndee McGuire, current president and CEO. “His commitment to rural healthcare, his collaborative approach, and his dedication to our mission give me great confidence in the future of MCH under his leadership.”

Scheinblum is known for his background in healthcare finance and for his involvement in regional and statewide healthcare efforts. He serves on the boards of Monadnock Collaborative, Monadnock United Way and the New Hampshire Hospital Association.

“After a rigorous search, the Board is confident that Rich is the right leader to guide MCH through the challenges and opportunities ahead,” said Paul Faber, chair of the Board of Trustees. “His long-standing commitment to this hospital and community, as well as his proven leadership and vision, will help ensure that MCH continues to thrive as a high-quality, compassionate, and financially strong healthcare provider.”

Scheinblum will work with McGuire through the transition. McGuire has served as president and CEO since February 2014.
