New England College senior goalkeeper Makenzie Anderson of Antrim was recently named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Goalkeeper of the Year for the second straight season.

Anderson started all 20 games for the Pilgrims and posted career bests in goals-against average, save percentage and shutouts. She led the conference in all three categories, finishing with an .875 save percentage, a 0.72 goals-against average and five shutouts. Her save percentage was nearly six-tenths of a point higher than the next qualified goalkeeper, and her goals-against average was more than a full goal lower than the GNACโ€™s second-best mark.

She was even stronger in league play, recording a .918 save percentage and allowing four goals for a 0.46 goals-against average. Anderson earned seven wins and three shutouts during the conference schedule and added another shutout in a 3-0 quarterfinal win over Lasell, helping her secure a spot on the GNAC All-Tournament Team.

Nationally, Anderson ranks third in Division III in save percentage and eighth in goals-against average. She concludes her NEC career with 40 wins and 16 shutouts, the second-highest total in program history.
