The Peterborough Fire & Rescue ambulance was parked outside of Shawโs in Peterborough on Saturday, used as a transport for donations for ConValโs End 68 Hours of Hunger program.

On Saturday, residents across the ConVal School District gave hundreds of dollars in cash donations and nearly 1,000 food items during the End 68 Hours of Hunger Stuff an Ambulance event.
End 68 Hours of Hunger is the local chapter of a program that provides children with bags of food for the weekend. On Saturdayย in the Shawโs parking lot, members of Peterboroughโs Fire & Rescue Department helped to collect donations and delivered them to the End 68 Hours of Hunger headquarters in one of the town ambulances. Peterborough Fire & Rescue holds several Stuff an Ambulance events throughout the year.
Program Coordinators Carol Cleary and Linda Caracappa said they were very pleased with the turnout. The event resulted in 970 food items worth $1,239, plus $671 in cash and checks and a total of 119 ย bags of food donated to the program.ย ย
โThe weather was cold and snowy, but people were enthusiastic,some came just for the food drive. We collected a lot of food, money and we even got two future volunteers,โ said Caracappa.
