The Boynton softball team traveled to Chester Tuesday to seek revenge against the team that gave them their first loss.
In the 2nd, Brynn DePauw drew a 3-2 walk after fouling off four. DePauw stole 2nd and 3rd and with two outs Shannon Wooster hit a hard one that skimmed off the pitcher’s glove and stunned the 2nd baseman, allowing DePauw to cross the plate.
In the top of the 4th, Alannah Johnson led off with a hit. Johnson stole 2nd, and for the second time in the game with two outs, Wooster came through with a solid single to left, scoring Johnson, giving the Lady Bulldogs a 2-0 lead.
Bottom of the 6th, Chester rallied with a double and a triple, scoring one. Chester kept Boynton scoreless in the 7th and in their last at bats made it to first on a fielding error and scored. Tied, with one out and a runner on 2nd, Chester hits a ball to short, that unseen by the plate ump, clips their runner, who scores and wins the game, handing Boynton their second loss of the season, 3-2.
