“Can you believe that he made that out of wood?” was a common refrain heard at the Dublin Community Center Friday afternoon as visitors contemplated Franz Feige’s craftsmanship.
Dublin Community Center, 1123 Main St., Dublin, will host the Monadnock Storytelling & Spoken Word Circle on Wednesday, Feb. 19, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. This open mic event invites participants to share stories, poetry, rap, comedy or any form of spoken word in a round-the-circle format.

Greenfield’s representative to the ConVal School Board, Curtis Hamilton, began Tuesday evening’s public hearing in Dublin about a petition article to establish a budget cap for ConVal by presenting the anticipated impact on education and school programming if it passes March 11.
On Saturday afternoon, the Dublin Community Center hosted a Valentine’s Day event. The event included crafts to make Valentine’s cards, children’s songs performed by Volkert Volkersz, and a visit with Archie the pig and Penelope the rabbit from Amazing Grace Animal Sanctuary. Along with crafts, the DubHub also served a Valentine’s lunch.

At first glance, most people coming across the exhibit of landscapes by Earl Schofield in the Peterborough Town Library might think the works are oil paintings.
The Dublin Community Center, 1123 Main St., Dublin, will host a reception on Friday, Feb. 14, from 5 to 7 p.m. to celebrate the work of woodworker Franz Feige. With more than 35 years of experience, Feige’s work ranges from functional wooden bowls, boxes and utensils to decorative, artistic vessels and sculptures.
The Dublin Community Center, 1123 Main St., Dublin, will host its monthly coffee house and open mic on Saturday, Feb. 15, from 6 to 9:30 p.m. The event features a performance by Wendy Keith & Her Alleged Band, with Jack Henry and Doug Farrell delivering original and classic cover songs.
Abigail Moody of Dublin, a sophomore nursing major; and Noah Ogden of Dublin, a senior kinesiology major, were named to the president’s list for the fall 2024 semester at Bob Jones University.

Town officials in Dublin are contemplating an operating budget of $2,771,142 for 2025. That figure, while not finalized, was recommended by the Select Board at Monday’s meeting in advance of the Budget Committee’s further consideration this week.
The Dublin Education Advisory Committee and Dublin Select Board unanimously recommend withdrawal of Dublin from ConVal and the creation of a Dublin School District. The State Board of Education also voted unanimously to accept Dublin’s proposal to withdraw.
There is much to disagree with in Blake Anderson's biased article in the Jan. 23 edition of the Ledger-Transcript (“Small towns and public education”). However, we would like to focus on one particular part.

Stephen Hicks of Rindge and Yile Yu of Dublin were named to the dean's list at Bob Jones University for the fall 2024 semester. The dean's list recognizes students who achieve a grade point average of 3.0 to 3.74 during the semester. Hicks is a freshman engineering major, and Yu is a junior communication major.

The Dublin Community Center helped warm up a January afternoon by hosting a chili cook-off Saturday. Eight culinary contestants came to the DubHub from as far away as Manchester, with entrants from Antrim, Bennington and Dublin also serving up their best.
