Peterborough Town Cemeteries is participating in the national nonprofit Wreaths Across America’s (WAA) annual Giving in July campaign.

The goal for Peterborough Town Cemeteries is to support efforts that help unify and celebrate veterans and military families by thanking the 620 service members laid to rest at East Hill Cemetery, Pine Hill Cemetery and Village Cemetery with the placement of a live, balsam veteran’s wreath this December.

Visit wreathsacrossamerica.org/NH0046 to sponsor a veteran’s wreath. For every two sponsored wreaths, a third will be placed through this group link.

Peterborough Town Cemeteries is in its fourth year as a participating location for Wreaths Across America. The coordinators, KaitLynne Foote and Lisa Foote-Fyfe, are Gold Star Family members and started this mission as a way to recognize their community veterans after the flags are brought in and the snow falls.

Their first year in 2021 saw 89 wreaths placed at Memorial Gate and three cemeteries. Last year, along with the help of 44 volunteers, 396 wreaths were placed. Foote and Foote-Fyfe will be  in the community this summer with information on Wreaths Across America and how to can sponsor a wreath. They are hoping to reach full coverage for National Wreaths Across America Day on Dec. 14.
