The Monadnock Center for History and Culture will host “Downtown in Our Town: A Thornton Wilder Walking Tour” on Saturday, Oct. 5, at 10:30 a.m. Tickets are $12 ($10 for Monadnock Center members) and tickets must be purchased in advance.

This walk through Peterborough’s downtown explores the people and places that served as inspiration for Wilder’s 1938 Pulitzer Prize-winning play “Our Town” and discusses Wilder’s long relationship with MacDowell and Peterborough. Along the way, guests will learn the answer to the question, “Is Peterborough ‘Our Town’?”

Walking tours are held rain or shine. The tour takes approximately 90 minutes.

For information and to purchase tickets, visit monadnockcenter.org or call the center at 603-924-3235.
