Tot Time has returned to the Mason Public Library, offering weekly activities for children under school age.

Tot Time is scheduled for every Tuesday at the library at 9:15 a.m.

In other events, the library will be getting into a fall mood with “Make a Scarecrow Day” at the Mason Community Market on Saturday, Sept. 16. Some materials, including wooden stakes, straw and burlap bags to draw a face on, will be provided at the market, but scarecrow-builders must bring their own costumes or clothes to dress up their scarecrow. There will be prizes awarded, and the scarecrows will decorate the library lawn and walkway for the fall.

All are welcome to participate in the scarecrow contest, but registration is required. Call the library at 603-878-3867 or send email t0 library@masonnh.us to sign up.

The library is also one of the participating libraries in this year’s New Hampshire Big Read of “The Bear,” by Andrew Krivak, chosen to be the National Read Across America book.

Pick up a free copy of "The Bear" at the Mason Public Library. The library will host a book discussion on Sept. 22 at 6 p.m. at the library with Franklin Pierce University professor Mary Kelly. The talk is made possible by a grant from NH Humanities and National Endowment for the Arts in partnership with Arts Midwest.
