Tammy O’Connor has been appointed as the new principal of Peterborough Elementary School.

She replaces Larry Pimental, who was named as the new director of athletics and co-curriculars in May.

O’Connor was assistant principal at Great Brook School, having been appointed to the position in 2023. Previously, she was assistant director/assistant principal of MicroSociety Academy Charter School in Nashua and a learning specialist for Souhegan High School in Amherst and Merrimack High School in Merrimack.

She holds a bachelor’s degree in human development, elementary education and general special education from Rivier College, and a Master of Arts in education and educational leadership from Antioch University. She also holds certifications from the New Hampshire Department of Education as a principal, and in general special education and elementary education for kindergarten through eighth grade.

“The district is confident that Tammy’s leadership will continue to foster a nurturing environment where all students can reach their full potential,” stated Superintendent Kimberly Rizzo Saunders. “Please join us in welcoming her to PES! We look forward to a successful school year ahead under her guidance.”
