Letter: Trump doesn’t respect military

My paternal grandparents were a Gold Star family, as one of my uncle's died while serving this country in World War II.
My brother and his wife are a Gold Star family, because my nephew died while serving as a Marine, in Iraq.
I served four years in the Air Force during the Vietnam Era. One of my brothers served in the Navy. Two brothers were Marines, and my father was in the Army.
To have to listen to the numerous outrageous observations and comments about the military, made by our former commander-in-chief, Donald Trump (who never served, due to bone spurs), makes my blood boil.
He said John McCain was not a hero, by being shot down and captured, because he likes people that were not captured. Then in France, while he was supposed to be honoring fallen soldiers there, he was overheard calling them “suckers” and “losers.”
Then at Arlington Cemetery, while standing next to his chief of staff, John Kelly (whose son is buried there), he asked, “What was in it for them?”
Now, he says that the Medal of Freedom, (the highest honor a civilian can get) is better than the Medal of Honor (the highest honor anyone in the military can receive) because to get the Medal of Honor, they have been “hit so many times by bullets, or they're dead”
Trump has no clue about what it is to serve our country. His angle is, what's in it for him? What can he milk out of it?

Trump has proven that he is not qualified to be commander-in-chief of our armed forces, ever again. He knows that if he loses this election, it will finally be his time to serve, but it won't be militarily.
