Letter: Assessing the Christian vote

I’m sticking up for Christian folks in New Ipswich and Rindge who get plenty of negative vibes for their voting records. Here’s my assessment of why Christians vote the way they do. We believe in hard work, honest living and abstaining from alcohol, drugs and fornication. We believe that immigration should be done legally and we’re against rewarding those (especially criminals) who abuse our border laws.

If a pregnant mother is murdered, the courts rule it a double homicide. Killing a child in this manner is totally wrong, and God doesn’t change his mind when it’s done under the guise of “free choice.” Our Creator does not have double standards, and we must agree with him. For decades, we have witnessed “free love” and its devastating harm to children and families. Ignoring such promiscuity now has us in battles to keep boys out of girls’ bathrooms. Furthermore, allowing males to play in women’s sports steals trophies and scholarships away from real females.

Christians cannot uphold such backwards sinfulness. Our all-knowing God, Creator of everything, said that there are two genders, and marriage is between a man and woman. Since when did foolish mortals think they can rewrite his rules? The Christians in our communities don’t vote for perfect politicians, only somewhat God-fearing ones. And we don’t call Donald Trump “Hitler” and demonize him when he’s the one who protects Christian values that were upheld by our forefathers. May God bless President Trump and our leaders with his perfect and unchanging wisdom!
