Peterborough Town Library, 2 Concord St., is hosting an artist talk by Robert Hauser, one of the artists currently on display in its Community Art Gallery.
This “Outer Space Presentation: Art Meets Science Tour Guide of the Universe,” will take place on Wednesday, July 10, at 6 p.m. in the library’s 1833 Room. Hauser believes that “art should be instructive, allowing the viewer to experience and learn about other kinds of knowledge and what has yet to be imagined” and his presentation will explore “how art and science share in interpreting past and present events on our Spaceship Earth.”
“The way that Robert talks about the ideas that inspired him to create these pieces is fascinating,” stated Aimee LaRue, public services librarian at PTL. “He has woven together his thoughts on the universe, his understanding and interpretation of the universe, and the further questions that those thoughts generate to create multi-layered artistic interpretations of all of that information.”
Hauser’s pieces are on display with artwork created by another local artist, Jane E. Simpson, who also uses collage and assemblage to create her pieces. The exhibit, “Two Artists & Four Hands: Robert Hauser & Jane E. Simpson,” will be on view in the library through Friday, July 26.
