Hancock Town Library hosting Rachel Thorne Germond display

The Hancock Town Library will feature "Paintings & Photographs" by Rachel Thorne Germond from April 19 through May 28 in the Daniels Room. An opening reception will be held Saturday, April 19, from noon to 1:30 p.m.

Germond, a resident of Hancock and Brooklyn, is an interdisciplinary artist whose work combines painting, photography, mixed media and performance. Her art reflects life between rural and urban settings and explores themes of daily life, memory and imagination.

She has exhibited in New York City, Wellfleet, Bisbee and the Monadnock region. Germond holds a BFA from Cornell University and an MFA in dance and choreography from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. She studies oil painting with Hancock artist Jean Mann and produces collaborative performances through RTG Dance.

The exhibit can be viewed during library hours of Monday and Wednesday 2 to 6 p.m., Tuesday and Thursday 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Saturday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Call 603-525-4411 to check availability.
