Peterborough’s annual Earth Day Roadside Litter Pickup will take place Friday, April 18, through Tuesday, April 22.

Residents are encouraged to clean up their street frontage or adopt a section of road. To join a team or sign up for a stretch of the town’s 90 miles of roads, contact the Conservation Commission at 603-547-7978.

Designated blue trash bags are available at the Recycling Center at 500 Union St. during hours of operation, the Town House at 1 Grove St. (closed Fridays) and the Peterborough Town Library at 2 Concord St. The Highway Department will pick up filled bags left along roadsides April 23, and state crews will pick them up on state roads.

Those unable to participate during the official dates may deliver filled blue bags to the Recycling Center before or after the event without needing to separate materials for recycling.

Volunteers should wear gloves and bright clothing and be mindful of traffic.
