Tickets on sale for Lucky Duck Race in Peterborough

The Peterborough Lions Club will sell Lucky Duck Race tickets weekends leading up to and including race day on Saturday, June 29.

The race will begin with the ducks entering the Nubanusit River at Putnam Park and end in Depot Square Park. Tickets are $5, or five tickets for $20. Several prizes will be awarded for the winning ducks, including the grand prize of $1,000.

At ticket sales locations, the Lions will also be collecting new or gently worn shoes to support the efforts of soles4souls.org. The organization keeps unwanted shoes and clothing from going to waste and puts them to good use. Go to soles4souls.org for a donation form for tax purposes.

Sale and donation locations are as follows:

-- Saturday, June 1: Shaw’s 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., Brady’s, 225 Concord St., 8:30 to 11 a.m.

-- Saturday, June 8: Recycling Center 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., The Bagel Mill 8:30 to 10:30 a.m.

-- Saturday, June 15: Recycling Center 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Shaw’s 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

-- Saturday, June 22: Brady’s at 225 Concord St. and The Bagel Mill, both 8:30 to 11 a.m.

-- Sunday, June 23: Beepa and Lulu’s 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

-- Race day, June 29: Brady’s at 225 Concord St. 8:30 to 11 a.m., Depot Square Park 11 a.m. t l1:30 p.m.

All proceeds will support assistance with eye screenings, eye exams, eyeglasses and hearing aids. In addition, the Lions donate to local charities, including End 68 Hours of Hunger, Peterborough Food Pantry, Monadnock Early Learning Center and David’s House.
