Peterborough Presidents Day gathering will feature Preamble

A gathering to observe Presidents Day will take place in in the Peterborough Town House upper hall, 1 Grove St., on Friday, Feb. 21, at noon. Participants will read the Preamble to the U.S. Constitution, which will also be sung, rapped, and presented in sign language.

L. Phillips Runyon III , who was the presiding justice of the 8th Circuit Court for 27 years, will discuss the governance principles in the Preamble’s 52 words and is expected to reference Abraham Lincoln. Fred Simmons and Leslie Vogel of Folksoul Music will lead a singalong of “This Land Is Your Land.” Attendees are encouraged to wear red, white and blue and be ready to join in the singing.
