Peterborough Folk Music will present Scottish-born Canadian folk singer David Francey at the Peterborough Unitarian Universalist Church, 25 Main St., on Tuesday, Nov. 19, at 7 p.m.

Known for his songs that capture the lives of working people, Francey has released 11 albums and won three Juno Awards.

Born in Ayrshire, Scotland, Francey moved to Canada at 12 and spent years working across the country in rail yards and construction sites while writing poetry and music. His first album, “Torn Screen Door,” became a Canadian hit in 1999, and his songs have been covered by artists such as The Del McCoury Band and The Rankin Family.

Tickets are $28 online at pfmsconcerts.org and $35 on the day of the show (cash/checks). Doors open at 6:30 p.m.
