Peterborough’s eighth annual downtown Art Walk will be Saturday, July 6, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Rain date is July 7.
Art will include jewelry, pottery, watercolor, fabric, wood carving and oil painting. A walking map will show the location of all the artists, live musicians, shops, restaurants and town attractions. Depot Park and Putnam Park will host live music.
Performing first outside Tria Yoga is Side Effects, the acoustic duo of Debbie Thompson and Bob Wrigh. Next up will be Sofia & Kate with original and cover songs, followed by the Grove Street Band performing a repertoire of Celtic, classical, folk and pop music. The band consists of flautist Chaz Beaulieu, guitar player Eric Blackmer, David Duhon and Lisa Murray on piano.
Across the river in Depot Park, performances start with Alex Tkaczevski, a teacher, composer and pianist. He will be featuring tunes by Gershwin, Scott Joplin, McDowell and his own compositions. Next will be Tara Greenblatt & Friends with vocals of contemporary folk originals, strings and jazz. Following will be Folksoul Duo, playing American roots music, including folk, oldies and 1930s jazz.
Alongside the Art Walk this year will be the Pastel Society of NH show inside the Monadnock Center at Bass Hall. There will also be small selection of female artists inside the Old Brick School House, behind the Monadnock Center, through the iron gates.
This event is free and open to the public. Free parking is available downtown and in the River Walk parking. Masks are not required, and people can wear them at their personal discretion.
