Monadnock Writers' Group will hold its annual Three-Minute Fiction Contest on May 3 at 10 a.m. in the Eben Jones Classroom of the Peterborough Town Library, 2 Concord St.

Competitors will read their original fiction, which should be no more than three minutes in length when read out loud.  All writers – poets, novelists, and writers of nonfiction – as well as brand new writers are encouraged to give three-minute fiction a try.

Two judges from outside the MWG will determine the winners. Anyone may compete by registering at the event.  There is no fee. Traditionally, the winner of the MWG three-minute fiction contest has gone on to  the represent the  MWG at  New Hampshire Writers Project state flash fiction contest. The date of this event has not been determined.

The next meeting of the Monadock Writers’ Group is at 9:45 a.m. Mah 17 at the James Baldwin Library at MacDowell in Peterborough. Two current MacDowell resident artists will share their work with the group. For information about the MWG, go to monadnockwriters.org.
