The Monadnock Center for History and Culture will host a walking tour, “The Women of Peterborough,” Saturday, Aug. 3, at 10:30 a.m.

This walk will take guests through Peterborough’s downtown to see the places where women have left their mark over the last 200 years and shaped the town. The tour discusses a variety of women, from the mill girls who worked in the early 19th century textile mills to the affluent and educated women who transformed the downtown in the early 20th century.

Tickets for the walk are $12 ($10 for Monadnock Center members) and must be purchased in advance. Walking tours are held monthly May through November.

To purchase tickets and to learn more about this and other Monadnock Center programs, visit monadnockcenter.org or call the center at 603-924-3235.
