The Monadnock Center for History and Culture will host “Thanksgiving Traditions,” an open house featuring open-hearth cooking, on Saturday, Nov. 16, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Phoenix Mill House, located behind the center’s main building at 19 Grove St., Peterborough.

The event offers guests a taste of historic Thanksgiving dishes from the 1830s, with costumed interpreters portraying members of the Prescott family, who once lived in the mill house. Visitors can sample period recipes, learn about 19th-century Thanksgiving customs and take home recipe copies.

Admission is by donation, and guests are welcome to stop by anytime during the open house.
