Mason resident killed in Milford crash

A Mason resident died in a car accident on Savage Road in Milford Monday evening.

According to the Milford Police Department, Walter Knights, 50, was the only occupant of the vehicle, a 2008 Toyota Tacoma. Knights was traveling west on Savage Road, going downhill, when his vehicle swerved across the road and hit a tree. 

Milford police, fire and ambulance responded at approximately 6:43 p.m., with assistance from the Amherst and Wilton police departments. Knights was pronounced dead at the scene.

Savage Road was closed for three hours following the accident.

The Milford Police Department is still investigating the incident. Anyone with information about the accident is encouraged to contact the department at 603-249-0630.
