Mark Bodin, president of Savings Bank of Walpole, has been named the 2023 Community Banker of the Year by the New Hampshire Bankers Association.
Bodin received the award during the association’s recent annual conference in Quebec City, Canada. Savings Bank of Walpole has a location on Sonja Drive in Rindge.
Each year, the New Hampshire Bankers Association honors a New Hampshire bank employee who has gone beyond the course of ordinary business to help improve the state through civic and community engagement.
Bodin was selected by an independent panel that included Senate President Jeb Bradley (R-Wolfeboro), Senate Democratic Leader Donna Soucy (D-Manchester) and Chair of the House Commerce and Consumer Affairs Committee, Rep. John Hunt (R-Rindge).
“If you spend just a little bit of time with Mark, it becomes abundantly clear that he has a heart of service to his community.” stated NH Bankers President Kristy Merrill. “Not only does he embody the spirit of a community banker through his actions, but he encourages his team to do so as well with 40% of Savings Bank of Walpole employees serving on local nonprofit boards and committees.”
As president of Savings Bank of Walpole, Bodin has driven internal initiatives that support career growth and mentorship of SBW employees such as “Women in the Workforce.” He is also on the board of Cheshire Medical Center, Kurn Hattin Homes for Children, Monadnock Diversity Equity Inclusion & Belonging Coalition and the Keene Family YMCA’s Development and Community Impact Committee.
